Direction Home Akron Canton centers long-term care on the person. Services include but are not limited to: Aging and Disability Resource Center, Free in-home assessments (A registered nurse will complete an in-home assessment), PASSPORT Home Care (provides services for older adults (60 and older) in their own homes), Assisted Living Waiver Program (provides an alternative to nursing facility placement), Ombudsman Services (long term care and MyCare Ohio), OutReach and education programs
Long Term Care Ombudsman investigates complaints related to long-term care with a strong focus on resolving the concern to the consumer’s satisfaction. We utilize negotiation, mediation, education, and advocacy. All investigations are confidential and the ombudsman only speaks about the concern to others if given consent to do so. 800.421.7277 ext. 8201
