Services for Seniors offers education on Elder Fraud and Scams, Ohio Elder Abuse Commission, support to social service agencies and law enforcement, Elder Abuse training for law enforcement, Consumer Advocate Reports and consumer complaints. The Health Care Fraud Section of the Ohio Attorney GeneralÕs Office is responsible for conducting investigations into Patient Abuse/Neglect as well as Medicaid Fraud. The Consumer Protection Division provides mediation assistance to Ohio consumers in matters involving a consumer transaction. Enforces numerous Ohio laws that protect consumers. Investigates and prepares litigation against nonconforming companies when violations of the consumer protection laws cannot be settled through non-legal channels. Also provides educational materials and consumer protection speakers who address groups about consumer protection matters. The Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation Program works with crime victims who are entitled to compensation for certain losses or costs that were the result of a crime, such as the crime of domestic violence.
