The Ohio Association of Area Agencies on Aging (o4a), a nonprofit organization, is a statewide network of agencies that provide services for the elderly, as well as advocate on behalf of older Ohioans. The Association addresses issues that have an impact on the aging network, provides services to members, and serves as a collective voice for Ohio's Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs).
The Association provides the following services to its members:
- Advocacy – o4a is involved with federal and state initiatives, maintaining dialogue with elected officials regarding the needs of older Ohioans.
- Training – An annual conference with informative workshops, Annual Advocacy in Action Event and Aging in Ohio Orientation are offered to provide AAA and aging network staff with essential components of quality program development.
- Communications – Information on pertinent aging issues and events is collected by the Association and disseminated to AAAs and other groups.
- Public Relations – o4a actively participates with many other aging-related groups and committees to enhance statewide coordination efforts and promote the AAA network.
