In addition, consumer services representatives assist Ohio insurance consumers through its toll-free hotline, educational materials, social media, community outreach, and meeting one-on-one. Representatives respond to a wide variety of insurance inquiries and investigate insurance complaints against companies and agents.

ODI has a Regulatory Ombudsman. The ombudsman acts as a liaison between the department and consumers who feel that their issue was not resolved satisfactorily. For example, the ombudsman is here to assist consumers who have reached out to Consumer Services, the Medicare division, or another area of the department but are not satisfied with the results.
